I Would Be Honored to be a featured Keynote Speaker in your next event.

I have been fortunate and delighted to travel the world sharing my passion, insights, and expertise in Healthcare Innovation and Futurism.

I believe in presentations that included top quality media, striking visuals, and direct interaction with the audience.  I’m there to truly spark interest and curiosity in your audience, to give them a first exposure or an in-depth view of exponential technologies that have the potential to radically change how we connect and communicate, how we do healthcare and education.

My activities always include demonstrations and hands-on sessions of the latest technology available.

I’m  @ZGJR and that’s the fastest way to contact me.

The fact that I’m a Full-time Practicing Surgeon as well as a Healthcare Futurist, provides me with the rare combination of skills, qualities, and advantages that some clinicians have but most technology innovators lack.

That duality of expertise makes me a voice that definitely provides a different angle, a qualified and informed perspective. A voice that impacts and addresses both ends of the spectrum, diversifying the target audience, feeding multiple interests and curiosities.

My compromise is to offer up-to-date, engaging, exciting and energetic, professionally delivered presentations that immerse the audience in the topic of Futurism in Medicine, Healthcare Exponential progress and the potential of technology to revolutionize the way we practice medicine and teach medical education.

My focus and passion is in the convergence of Innovation-Technology, Futurism and Healthcare Social Media (HCSM) to improve Healthcare delivery and medical education; at the same time, I’m a firm believer in the vital importance of preserving the HUMANITY of the interaction, in the patient – doctor relationship, and I believe that technology can facilitate that, augmenting and improving the experience.

I’m faculty at the Singularity University/ Exponential Medicine program and know that the amazing development of technology and its smart use, will profoundly, positively impact our health and our world in ways that are difficult to even imagine.

I know that Telemedicine, Digital Health Technology, Healthcare Social media and Spatial Computing (VR, AR, Mixed Reality) will, very soon, completely redefine the way in which medical care is delivered. Innovation in the application of remote presence to provide care, will cause a complete disruption of paradigms and allow for a much better system.

I have delivered four TEDx talks in the topics of Healthcare Innovation and Exponential Medicine, between 2011-2019, from Costa Rica ( In Spanish at TEDxPuraVida 2019),

to Bermuda,

discussing the potential of technology and its applications, and gadgets, from iPods in trauma to Google Glass and other smart glasses.

As an active keynote, speaker and faculty, I have lectured at MIT, Deloitte University, Temple University, the FDA, Health2.0, Health2.0Europe, Healthio, the American Telemedicine Association, HIMSS, HIMSS-AP , Cerner, Games for Health Europe, Doctors2.0 2013 and 2014, the Stanford Summit/Medicine 2.0 Congress (MEDx), Samsung Research Institute and many other exceptional venues ( See footnote ), and many others.

I had the honor to be featured in the October 2014 issue of Maine magazine: “Embracing Technology for a Healthier Future” and the July 2014 issue: “50 People Shaping our State“.

I was invited as a faculty, speaker and hands-on skills instructor at the American College of Surgeons 2014 Clinical Congress in the session: “Telemedicine, The Rapidly Expanding Field of Video-Based Telemedicine”.
